Dr. Stefan Slak, University of Toledo Professor Emeritus, died November 1, 2025, at Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. His wife, Hewen Slak, and his son, Milan Slak, were at his side. Stefan was born December 26, 1932, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received a diploma in Psychology from the University of Paris (Sorbonne) in 1961, a Master's Degree in Psychology from Lehigh University in 1964, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Wayne State University in 1967. Stefan joined the University of Toledo faculty in the department of Psychology in 1967. He retired in 1995. At his retirement, he was awarded the title "Professor Emeritus." He has given the University of Toledo 28 years of distinguished service. Stefan was the co-founder of the Society of Slovenia Studies and participated in publications of the Slovenia Society. Stefan had 58 scientific and technical publications in the area of Psychology. Stefan loved to study languages: Chinese, Esperanto, French, Italian, and Russian. Stefan enjoyed playing chess, organ, and studying the world atlas. Stefan has traveled around the world. Stefan's intelligence, sense of humor, and rich wealth of knowledge in history, philosophy, and geopolitics have always been respected. Stefan will be remembered as a decent, honest, and loving husband by his wife, Hewen Slak.

Stefan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Hewen Slak; his son, Milan Duran Slak; and his two granddaughters, Alena Louise Slak and Gabriella Louise Slak.
