Stella

Stella Gorny, age 93, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 26, 2012. Stella was born May 1, 1919, in Toledo, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Pacewicz) Janowiak. In her younger years she worked for Lamson's, Martin Box Co. and Craftmaster. Stella was an excellent cook and made Polish specialties of all kinds. She liked to read and make ceramics. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clement; sisters, Frances Jechura and Ann Domagala, and brother, Leo Janowiak. She is survived by her sister, Sophie Gerasimiak; sons, James (Aubrie Abernethy) and Thomas (Pat O'Neal) Gorny; daughters, Carolyn (Frank) Venda and Mary Ann (Ron) Gradomski; grandchildren, David Gorny, Kate Skolos, Shari Fedler, Kristi Napier, Andrea Coutcher, Joe Kerwin and Brian Gradomski, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where a Scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the mortuary on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Tributes in Stella's memory may be made to St. Hyacinth Church.
