Stephen Zygiel, 60, of Rossford, Ohio lost his battle to cancer on April 23, 2022.

Stephen died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, wife Denise and beloved dog, Ammo.

Stephen was born on September 30, 1961 in Dallas, TX to Charles and Barbara (Hartley) Zygiel. Stephen was a graduate of Somerset High School, Somerset, MA, Rhode Island Trade Shop School, Providence, RI, completing auto mechanics course and Divers Institute of Technology, Inc., Seattle, WA., completing commercial divers' course.

Stephen had a diversified work history including but not limited to: Auto Mechanic, General Laborer, Framing Carpenter, Factory Assembly Line, Forklift Operator, Airport Maintenance, Grocery, and Underwater Construction.

Stephen has worked the last 8 years for Costco Wholesale in Maintenance. Stephen loved his job and was touched by the many cards, calls, prayers and well wishes that his work family extended to him.

Stephen enjoyed travel, fishing, scuba diving, driving race cars, wildlife, MMA, golfing and gambling. Stephen always had a story to share.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Zygiel.

Stephen is mourned by his wife, Denise (Colnar) Zygiel; brother, Charles (M. Jane) Zygiel of Denton, TX; sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Mason of Columbia, MD, Patricia Zygiel of MI; and many nephews and nieces.

Stephen has made a selfless act and has donated his body for medical education and scientific purposes to improve the human condition and quality of life.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Maumee, OH on May 10th, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to family, or to a charity of your choosing.

My favorite picture of Stephen came from moms visit to y'all when you were in Florida. This is how I will remember him always.

It is important not to forget that the depths of our sorrows match the heights of our joys. I know that you are hurting now and I wish that I could take away that pain. Just know that You have many joyous memories of Stephen. He will not be forgotten. I love you Denise.
