Sylvester "Mike" Hamernik, age 79, of Waynesfield, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at his home. He was born February 26, 1945 in Toledo to the late Sylvester and Mary Ann (Ciubak) Hamernik. He married Brenda and she survives in Waynesfield.

Mike had worked for Champion Spark Plug in Toledo for 12 years before working at Ford Motor Company, Lima and that is where he retired from. He was a family man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his friends. He was an avid woodworker and shared his talents with the family.

Additional survivors include children, George (Melissa) Hall of Perrysburg, Heather (Paul Hepplefinger) Rojem of Temperance, MI, Ralph (Crystal) Hall of Randleman, NC and Heath (Debby) Hamernik of Toledo; 6 grandchildren, Sydney, Nicholas (Danielle), Jaliana, Maya, Alexander and Isabella; 2 great-grandchildren, Carter and Corbin; and a brother, Joseph Hamernik of Toledo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Dean Hall; and a brother, Thomas Hamernik.

At his request no public services will be held and memorial contributions may be given to Interim Hospice.
