Tessie Saffran Obituary

Tessie (Harvey)
Tessie (Harvey) Saffran, 99, of Toledo passed away June 18, 2016. She was born January 11, 1917 in Oliver, Wisconsin to Emma (Terwilliger) and Linus Taylor and was adopted by her mother's sister and husband, Jennie and Charles Harvey after her mother passed away when she was three months old. Mrs. Saffran was baptized and joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church at age 9. Later on she joined Mainstreet Church in Walbridge.
Mrs. Saffran was married for 53 years to her loving husband, Walter F. Saffran who preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Burt Taylor Steiner and Dorothy Taylor Young. Surviving are her two sons, Garry A. (Charlotte) Saffran and Terry E. Saffran; 3 grandchildren, Craig (Debbie) Saffran, Renee (Brad) Delventhal, Stacey (Mike) Cline; 8 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Jonathan, Kayla, Kendyl, Tyler, Dawson, Jaxon and Vayda.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Lane Park and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for giving comfort in her final days on earth.
Friends and family will be received Friday, June 24, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121). Services will be conducted Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Mainstreet Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be made to the family at
