Thomas Everett Obituary

EVERETT
Thomas M.
Thomas M. Everett, 80, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at St. Anne's Hospital.
Tom was born September 30, 1935, in Toledo, OH, to parents Carroll “Jack” and Velma (Johnson) Everett. He was a 1955 graduate of Burnham High School. Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1956, and was Honorably Discharged in 1962. He began his career working at the Allen V. Smith Company. Tom's father-in-law encouraged him to work in construction. He took that advice and knowledge and became an independent home builder and remodeler. Tom and his wife Bonnie did room additions all over the area, making countless friends along the way.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 57 years, Bonnie (Renshler) Everett; children, Tad (Donna) Everett, Teri Dress, and Thomas Carroll (Janice) Everett; grandchildren, Melanie (Chris) Evanoff, David and Deanna Dress, and Kylie, Sydney, Alyssa and Breanne Everett; brother, Donald (Alice) Everett; sister, Janice Geisinger; and mother-in-law, Anna M. Renshler. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Elizabeth Gail; and father-in-law, Earl Karl Renshler.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Wednesday, April 6, from 4 - 9 p.m., where Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Tom will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
Tom Everett was many things to different people, to his family he was the rock always willing to help, to his grandchildren a staunch supporter, who attended sporting events, volunteered at schools and was always there. He took pride looking after his neighbors, making sure everyone was safe, and to the rest of us he was an honest man who could always be counted on.

We were so sad to hear that Tom had passed. He was such a kind neighbor. He would always be sure to say hi to us whenever we went out for a walk and he was relaxing on his porch. We will really miss seeing him.
