Thomas L. "Tom" Grycza, age 77, passed away on October 24, 2023. Tom was born in Toledo, OH, on August 20, 1946 to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Koszycki) Grycza.

Tom graduated from St. Hyacinth grade school, went on to attend DeVilbiss High School and The University of Toledo. He spent 4 years in the United States Air Force, 3 of those years being in Germany. Tom enjoyed playing pickleball with his friends, of which he was a certified instructor. Also, he enjoyed golf, fishing, working in his large yard and his beautiful flower gardens.

After 31 years of working for the City of Toledo, Tom retired from the Finance Department as Administrator of Computing Services. After retiring, he went on to work for the City of Monroe, MI, in IT for another 10 years.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Grycza; children, Jeremy (Heather) Grycza, and Bernadette (James) Curtis; stepsons, Kenneth (Jessica) McCarthy and Steven (Kristie) McCarthy; 5 grandchildren; sister, Ellen (Larry) Noward; and sister-in-law, Theresa Grycza.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel at 3655 King Road. Toledo, OH 43617.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. the following day, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church at 719 Evesham Avenue, Toledo, OH 43607.

Tom will be laid to rest at Springfield Township Cemetery.
