Thomas Matuszak Obituary
Thomas J. Sr.
Thomas J. Matuszak Sr., age 70, of Trotwood, Ohio, formerly of Toledo, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at home. He was born in Toledo on September 26, 1944, and graduated from Woodward High School in 1965. While in Toledo, Tom worked at Ellie's Deli, Davis Paper Box and Wonder Bread. He was also very active at the Toledo Deaf Club. While in Trotwood, he worked for 20 years at Dayton Phoenix Group. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and playing softball and was inducted into the Ohio Deaf Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Foster; brother, Dave (Kathy) Matuszak; grandparents and nephew. Surviving is his wife of over 25 years, Harriet; children, Thomas (Heather Jones) Matuszak Jr., and Traci Matuszak; grandchildren, Morgan, Thomas III, and Cecila Matuszak, Blake Keaton, Karibella, and Zoe Bentley, all of Columbus, OH; four stepchildren; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Sullivan; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. in the Urbanski Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Road (North of Laskey Rd) (419) 475-5055. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
