Thomas STRAUSBAUGH Obituary

STRAUSBAUGH Thomas Tom Strausbaugh, age 74, died on Tuesday morning, February 2nd, 2010, surrounded by his beloved wife and best friend, Ursula, and their children. He was born at the old Flower Hospital on May 13, 1935, to Lowell and Helen Strausbaugh. Tom, a graduate of Macomber High School, played fullback on their first football team. He served for 3 years in the United States Marine Corp. After his years in the service, he became a Tool & Die Maker. There is nothing that he enjoyed more than taking his children hunting and fishing and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Tom coached in the Washington Local Football League for over 10 years. Ursula and Tom celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 11, 2009. His transition into Heaven was made easier with care he received from his three personal R.N.s-Ursula, Carrie and Lori. He is survived by his wife, Ursula; his daughters, Carrie (Bob) Millen and Lori (James) Hall; and sons, Steve (Ronda), Doug (Angie), Greg (Christine), and Mark "Moe" (Sarah). Preceded in death by his son, Timmy. He was a loving grandfather to Jake, Todd, Jordan, Nick, Kristen, Jimmy, Taylor, Nathan, Tim, Shane, Aubrey, Greg, Olivia, Scarlett, Nolan and Shiloh. He is also survived by his sisters, Sue Newton and Diane Krohn and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., (west of Corey Rd.) on Friday from 3 to 8 PM. Funeral prayers will begin on Saturday at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 AM at St. Joseph's in Sylvania. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halsted Street, Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60642-2642 or Promedica Hospice, 5200 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560. The family would especially like to thank the staff and nurses on the 9th floor Adult Intermediate Unit and the 7th floor medical ICU at The Toledo Hospital.
