Timothy Hoffman Obituary
May 18, 1945 - July 7, 2025
Timothy "Tim" Louis Hoffman, age 80, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, following complications from idiopathic pulmonary disease. He was surrounded by family in his hometown of Toledo.
Born on May 18, 1945, in Richmond, Indiana, Tim grew up in New Paris, Ohio, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1963. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1970, and later earned his degree from The Ohio State University in 1971. In 1978, he married Suzanne Czech Hoffman, and they shared 33 wonderful years together until her passing.
Tim was the beloved son of Glenn and Georgia Hoffman. He is survived by his loving spouse, Kathleen Kardasz Sell; his children, Peter (Andrea) and Elizabeth; and his stepchildren, David (Melanie) and Mark (Ashley). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Virginia, Peter, Suzanne, and Matthew. Tim is also survived by his siblings, Paul (Shirley), Wayne (Cynthia), Mark (Jimidean), Kathleen (Michael), Therese (Terry), and Jeannie (Bill).
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne; his siblings, Judith and David; his nephew, Glenn; and his beloved pets, Pendleton, Peanut and Gonzo.
Tim ran a successful home inspection business in the Toledo area for more than 20 years. Known for his sharp wit and impeccable sense of humor, he brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. A passionate Ohio State Buckeye fan, he was also an avid golfer and gardener, and he loved to travel-making friends in every corner of the world. He was deeply generous, loving, and always ready to lend a hand or share a story.
Tim lived a full and generous life, never seeking the spotlight but always showing up for others. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will take place at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, July 12th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project and Hospice of Northwest Ohio, causes close to his heart.

Lost my good friend & golf buddy last night. We celebrated his 80th Birthday in May with a big party. He had been ill for awhile & knew this was going to be his last chance to celebrate with friends & family.
The picture here is from June 14, 2013, at our Friday Night Golf league at the Legacy in Ottawa Hills, MI. Tim is right up front.
I met Tim at our church retreat in 1991. We hit it off & along with Dan Murphy started golfing together. Golf trips ensued, with many great memories made & stories we can & can't tell.
I used to find ways to tease Tim. He gave me a lot of material to work with over the years. Most of the time he was "Ok" with it, but there were a few times he was ready to fight me.
Miss you buddy. I'll see you on the other side!!
