Troy R. Johnson, Sr.

Troy R. Johnson Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Toledoan, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, after a life marked by hard work, deep love, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Troy graduated from Libbey High School in 1969, and went on to serve the City of Toledo, Water Division, for over 30 years.

At the young age of 21, Troy purchased his first property-a bold move that sparked a lifelong journey in real estate investment. With self-taught skills and an entrepreneurial spirit, he became a hands-on businessman, known for his resourcefulness and determination.

Troy found joy in the simple pleasures: casting a fishing line, sharing stories around a campfire, and spending cherished time with his family-especially during their yearly tradition of camping at Yogi Jellystone Park. He enjoyed making jokes - mostly inappropriate, but always delivered with love (and questionable timing).

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy L. Johnson; his younger brother, Steve Johnson; and his lifelong buddy, Ron Cousino.

Troy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (Cecil) Johnson, who stood by his side through every chapter of life; and his mother, Yvonne C. Johnson. He leaves behind his children, Troy R. Johnson Jr., Jennifer D. Turk, Deborah K. Johnson, and Rubye C. (Steve) Wise; six grandchildren, Troy Johnson III, Joshua Gadoury, Ariana Rodela, Marisol Hernandez, Ayla Turk, and Weston Wise; and four great-grandchildren, Luca Rodela, Sasha Jeziorowski, Beckham Johnson, and Lyla Rodela.

Troy's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
