Ursula RAMER Obituary

RAMER Ursula "Penny" Our Dear Lord called Ursula "Penny" (Barouth) Ramer, age 86, to His heavenly home on Monday, October 10, 2011. Penny was born June 18, 1925, in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada and immigrated with her parents to the United States in 1926. She graduated in 1943 from Whitney High School, Toledo, and worked until 1950 for Home Building and Savings, where she acquired her nickname "Penny". She married her sweetheart John "Jack" Ramer on October 23, 1947 and once her children came she became a stay at home mom and enjoyed her family. She was a 50+ year member of Messiah Lutheran Church and participated in the Dorcas Circle and served on the Alter Guild. She enjoyed arts and crafts and gardening. Penny is survived by her loving sister, Louise "Lou" (Louis Sr.) Gilles; sister-in-law, Gertrude "Trudy" Bauroth; nieces and nephews, Cindy (Jack) Dubrien, William (Sue) Bauroth, Louis (Hariett) Gilles, and Diane (Thomas) Pauwels; great-nieces, Michelle Cash, Michelle Gilles, Allison Pauwels and great-nephew, Zachary Pauwels; in-laws, Robert Ramer, Kenneth (Patricia) Ramer, Shirley Laux, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews from the Ramer and Laux families; along with Penny's special friend and "daughter", Deborah Zientek. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; sons, Randall "Randy" and Martin "Marty" Ramer; parents, William and Emma Bauroth; brother, Alfred "Fritz" Bauroth; mother and father-in-law, George and Nellie Ramer; brothers and sisters in law, George and Edith Ramer, Kenneth Laux and Virginia Ramer; nieces, Barbara Sampson and Lisa Ramer, and nephews, David Gilles and Donald Ramer. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. (419.726.1583). Funeral Service and entombment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park are private with Pastor Cindy Getzinger officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to donor's choice in Penny's memory. Condolence to the family may be placed at www.jasinfuneralhome.com Penny's family would like to give a special thanks to the kind staff of "angels" who cared for Penny while she lived in Parkcliffe at Northwood (Wright Harvey House) for their excellent care. Thank you also to Dr. Michael Neverauskas for his compassionate care of Penny over the years.

I first met Penny when I was assigned as Marty's Tutor in 1968. Penny considered Marty as a gift from God. I remember her smile and positive attitude.My family and I are so enriched for having met Penny.

Dear Ramer Family, Penny was an angel here on earth and now she's been freed to fly in heaven. I always admired her strength and calmness. She is one of the nicest people I have met. Be happy for her, she's at rest and reunited with her loved ones.
