Vanessa Norden Obituary

Vanessa Ann Norden

Vanessa Ann Norden, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, after her very hard-fought battle with cancer. She never let her diagnosis stop her from finding the humor and silver linings in life. She was born on May 2nd, 1962, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ernest and Theresa (Zachman) Park. She was raised in the North End and graduated from Woodward High School, in 1980. She married Jeff Norden on May 26th, 1990, and they spent 35 loving years together, many of which were in their current residence of Sylvania, Ohio. For 42 years, Vanessa worked at Aramark Uniform Services (formerly Superior Overall of Toledo), making many lifelong friends and leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.

She will be remembered for her famed chocolate chip cookies, contagious creativity, and her unending kindness. Vanessa enjoyed spending time outdoors; whether relaxing in her hammock amongst the trees or walking along the beach in search of sea glass and making sand sculptures, she always found beauty in nature. She was an avid reader known for having her nose in a book. She was also a thrill seeker who loved roller coasters and Cedar Point. Vanessa would lovingly bake and decorate cookie cakes for her friends and family for any occasion. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her daughter, Lauren; her sisters, Cassie (Jeff) Hall and Dawn (Greg) Baumker; her brother, Tim Park; 10 nieces and nephews, as well as 8 great-nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Vanessa at Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd, Toledo, OH 43615, with visitation at 2:00 p.m. and memorial services starting at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 21st, 2025. The service will be followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m., at Fallen Timbers Golf Course Banquet Room, at 7711 Timbers Blvd, Waterville, OH 43566. In honor of Vanessa's memory, contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Toledo Metroparks, or the Toledo Museum of Art.

I worked in the same department with Vanessa for over 17 yrs. I remember her humor and jokes and dedication to her job. Every Christmas she would decorate the old palm tree with Christmas lights and when ever I would say:Why doesn't our work have any Christmas decorations up, she would say:We got our tree. Then we would laugh and say , yes we have our tree. I would look forward to that old tree. She had a sense of humor! Jeff: so sorry for your lost. LAUREN, Your Mom thought the world of you. May the Lord be with you both. I am sure Vanessa is decorating some old palm tree for the angels.Peace be with you both.

Rudolph Arnstein is my husband, Kathy Knopp is the aunt giving condolences to the family. Vanessa got the best care at this hospice. I love 650 miles away but was able to see her one last time as we traveled up, but couldn't stay because of committed travel arrangement made a year ago for the funeral. My heart is hurting for such a wonderful niece, friend, and like a sister to me for many years. This cancer was such a cruel joke, and she suffered so much due to the cancer. I am so grateful for her husband and daughter who loved her so much and will continue to be a support to both of them and any family member that wants to stay in touch. God speed Vanessa, you will be sorely missed beyond measure. Love and blessings. Kathy Knopp
