Victoria Hayes Obituary
Victoria Lynn Hayes, age 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, with her family by her side.
Vicki was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 26, 1952, to Donald "Pete" and Rosemarie Thompson. After graduating from nursing school she started her long career at the former Maumee Valley Hospital, then down the street to MCO, and later transferred to Toledo Orthopedic Surgeons, where she worked until she retired.
Vicki was known for her keen sense of humor, for her love of sweet treats, and a smile that would light up a room. She loved vacationing with her husband, Mike, and family on Lake Erie, Craft Shows, Christmastime (especially Snowmen) and watching Crime Dramas.
Vicki was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Michael Hayes; her parents; and her brother-in-law, Calvin Szymkowiak. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kelly (John "Zig") Ziegler; sister, Gina (Joe Wylie) Szymkowiak; nieces, Heather (Jeff) Kurdziel and Nikki (Trent) Walborn; great-nieces, Lila, Laci and Abby; and great-nephew, Cal.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, in Sylvania, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vicki's memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Toledo Humane Society.
