Virginia Roach Obituary

ROACH Virginia Virginia Roach, 93, of Toledo, died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Northwest Ohio Hospice Center, Perrysburg. Virginia worked at the Jeep Corporation as a typist in the payroll department for 43 years, retiring in 1973. A member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, she loved to play cards, read, and travel. Virginia outlived her immediate family and friends. Husband, Estell "Ducky" Roach, a computer operator at the Jeep Corporation, died in June of 1982. Son, Michael McMullen, a magazine publisher who resided in California and Colorado, and daughter-in-law, Deanna Mc Mullen, both died when his airplane crashed in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Stella (Pawelczak) Shire and a grandson, Michael McMullen, who died in 1994. Virginia is survived by her adopted family, Bob and Joy Vail, and their children, Robyn and Don Shinaver, Joylyn and Mike McGee, Rick and Chrissy Vail, Wendy and Mike Heskett, Ryan and Carrie Vail; 10 great-grandchildren of her adopted family and her sister-in-law, Wanda Zimmerman. There will be no visitation with a memorial service at a later date. Many thanks to her friends and the staff of Lutheran Home Assisted Living. It is with heartfelt appreciation that we thank all the staff of the Perrysburg Center of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassion, loving care and dignity shown to her and our family through her illness. Any tributes are asked to be sent to Virginia's special interest, of the care of those with disabilities at Vail Meadows Equestrian Center. Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
