Virginia M. Sandlin, 94, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. Formerly of Toledo, Virginia had resided at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania since 2003. Virginia was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 14, 1918, to William and Delpha (Hoaglin) Lober. In 1941, she married Theodore M. Hammel and he preceded her in death in 1963. In 1967, she married Bruce Sandlin and he preceded her in death in 1968. She was a member of Cass Road Baptist Church, Yondota Chapter #317 Order of the Eastern Star, and Kern-Milner American Legion Auxiliary.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Marlene (Paul) Johnson and Janet (Sherman) Brown; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Vykopal, Lorraine (Howard) Farnham, and brother, Robert (Sally) Lober. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Theodore and Bruce; son, Larry Hammel; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hammel; siblings, Helen Hooks, Betty Kohanski, Bill Lober, Harley Lober, and special friend, James Haley.

Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, December 3, 2012, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Cass Road Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
