Wendy Simmons Obituary
December 30, 1955 - January 14, 2022
Wendy Carol Simmons was born December 30, 1955, to the union of Lee and Evelyn Simmons in Toledo, Ohio. Wendy passed away on January 14, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Evelyn Simmons; brother, Tony Simmons.
She is survived by her son, William "Billy" (Osayor) Simmons; her siblings, Lee Jr. (Mary) Simmons, Michael Simmons, Keith Simmons, Robin Simmons, and Shirley Larkett; also survived by her six grandchildren, William Lee, Jr. and Dylan Simmons, Robert, Pearline, Jeffrey and John Young; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Wendy attended Scott High School, where she graduated in 1975. She worked a few years for Northwest Ohio Development Center (NODC).
Although Wendy battled with her mental health from a very young age, she was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Wendy loved music, she loved to dance, she was a generous soul and had a way of laughing out loud in such a way that it couldn't help but put a smile on your face! Many people were not aware, but Wendy excelled in track and field. In fact, she was noticed by many college scouts who desired to recruit her while she was only in the 8th grade! Wendy often expressed her hope to run one day in God's new world as she did in her youth!
In 1979 Wendy gave birth to her only child, William Lee Simmons. She was so in love with being a mother! She was so proud and appreciative of all his loving support and many sacrifices he made for her as he grew from a boy into a man.
We marvel however, as we reflect on Wendy's greatest accomplishment in life. That was the day she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism on July 14, 2012. It truly attests to the power of God as he helped Wendy achieve what many even in compete soundness of mind never could. Wendy loved Jehovah and her hope in his promises to undo all the wrongs of this ungodly world as expressed in his word was blazing! We eagerly anticipate the day when those promises will have come to fruition.
Wendy will wake up refreshed and as Isaiah 28:19 says, she will cry out joyfully!

Aunt Wendy once warned me that dedication to Jehovah was a serious and hard commitment, and to be sure to rely on Jehovah´s help with my integrity. Oh how right she was! I´m so blessed to say that our last conversation included us singing a beautiful song from the Kingdom Melodies: "Life without end at last". I so look forward to hugging her when she wakes up from death. Hugs to all her family and friends!
