William A. "Bill" Dlugas

1918 - 2007

DLUGAS William A. "Bill" William A. Dlugas, age 88, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away on February 21, 2007, at Ridgewood Manor in Maumee, OH. He is the son of Peter and Catherine Dlugas, immigrants from Poland. He was born on October 29, 1918, in Brazil, South America, during a short stay enroute from Poland to the United States. Bill became a US Citizen and was a veteran of World War II, during which he served in the US Air Force, Pacific Theatre as a navigator and gunner on the B-24 "Liberator" bomber. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose spirit will forever remain ever present. Bill retired from Time Container Corp. after 50 years of service in the corrugated packaging industry. He was avid golfer, gardener and handyman. Bill often enjoyed playing 18 holes with his sons and friends, sharing the vegetables from his garden, and doing projects around the house and helping neighbors with their projects. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Helen M. Dlugas; siblings, Michelle Dlugas, Mary Federowicz and Casimir Dlugas all of Erie, PA and Vera Kownacki of State College, PA. Bill is survived by his sons, Daniel F. Dlugas of Temperance, MI, Thomas C. (Nadine) Dlugas of Maumee, OH; daughter, Mary J Holmes and husband, Gary of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Carrie L.
