William R. "Bil" Pitzen

PITZEN William R. "Bil" William R. Pitzen "Bil", age 66, passed away Tuesday, September 1st, 2009, at his residence in Toledo. He was born in Toledo on April 26, 1943, to Herman and Mary Helen (Wathen) Pitzen. Bil served almost six years in the United States Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam era. He loved to go to flea markets with his loving companion, Liz and he also loved dancing and all types of music. Most of all, Bil loved meeting and talking with people. Bil is survived by his loving companion of 16 years, Liz Sams and her family; his daughters, Tonia (Ahmad) Rachidi and Tammey (Matt) Plessner; sister, Shirley Pawlinski; niece, Kathy (Rick) Doty; nephews, Bob (Sadie) Pawlinski, Ken Pawlinski and Brian Pawlinski; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Pitzen and Mary Helen and Rocky Rothlisberger and brother-in-law, Chipo Pawlinski. A memorial gathering for Bil will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 10 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1853 South Ave., Toledo followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
