Reverend William H. Smith, Jr., 88 years old, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Reverend Smith aka "Smitty" was the Dean of African American church musicians. His musical journey began in the early 1950's.
Prior to falling ill, Rev Smith dutifully served as an associate minister of Indiana Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. John E. Roberts.
Services for Reverend Smith are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 445 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio. Family hour begins at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the House of Day Funeral Home, 2550 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, OH 43607
