William Walker Obituary
William H. Walker, 91, completed his earthly journey on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, OH, with daughter Karen at his side. William was born June 2, 1927, in Toledo to Clarence J. Walker, Sr., and Lucy Maxine Walker.
In 1945 he graduated from Scott High School. He obtained a bachelor's in political science from Miami University in Oxford, where he joined the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Beta XI Toledo Chapter. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1952, he married Helen Armead Smaw, with whom he had a daughter, Karen Renee Walker. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Toledo where he was a staff machine technician and then was supervisor of station operations for 34 years. He was a member of Warren AME Church for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Michael) Russell; two grandchildren, Shanon M. Russell, Jovanna (Rance) Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Asija, Sharayah and Jordan Robinson; sister, Dorothy Ayalew; nephew, Eric J. Walker; god-daughter Kim Bailey; his love of 35 years, Marilyn J. Anderson, and a host of loving relatives, and friends.
Visitation is Friday, July 6, at 10 a.m., with homegoing service at 11 a.m., at Warren A.M.E. Church, 915 Collingwood Blvd. The Rev. Dr. Otis J. Gordon, pastor, is eulogist.

Life is never the same after losing a love one on earth. As God's children we must remember that the absence of the body is simply confirmation that this is our temporary home and we must make the most of life before taking our last breath. I will continue to trust God as he allows me to keep the light shining of our times spent together on earth, especially our birthday; 6/2!!
