Yetta

Yetta Wernick, 97, passed away on September 27, 2015, in Fostoria, Ohio. Yetta was a beloved wife, daughter mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on December 10, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Myer and Mary Shiff. She moved to Fostoria where she met her late husband of 37 years, Joseph Wernick. She graduated from Fostoria High School and lived her entire life in Fostoria, Ohio. The couple raised two boys in Fostoria, Alex Wernick and Jay Wernick. She was a member of Etz Chayim Synagogue.

Preceded in death by her son, Jay Wernick; husband, Joseph Wernick; brother, Jay Shiff, and sister, Carolyn Markoff. She is survived by her son, Alex Wernick (Anne) and four grandchildren, Michelle Shadburn, Lisa Nierenberg, Jason Wernick, and Jeffrey Wernick; seven grandchildren, Tripp Shadburn, Mia Nierenberg, Kate Nierenberg, Alexa Wernick, Rylan Wernick, Caden Wernick, Colin Wernick; her brother, Harry "Abe" Shiff.

Funeral Services Thursday, October 1 at 1 p.m. at Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, Toledo, Ohio 43615. Burial will follow in Beth Shalom in Oregon, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 North Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615.
