I was a graduate student at Rutgers when Charlie Leck was a professor, and will always remember him in a jovial mood and smiling. I wish that I had more time to take a course with Dr. Leck, because he must have been a great teacher.

Charlie was fun to be with and exuded enthusiasm for birds and the rest of the natural world. He must have been a superb teacher. I wish I had gotten to know him better.
