Michael James Doolan HOPEWELL TWP. - Michael James Doolan, 26, left this world prematurely on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. Michael was a 2004 graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School, where he participated in several music programs playing the bass guitar. His passion in life revolved around music, whether it was rock 'n' roll, jazz, or his new recent interest, electronic music. He particularly enjoyed string instruments, owning everything from a tiny ukulele to a stand-up bass. He was a member of the bands "La Violencia" and "Anne," along with his brother and best friend, Matthew. The group played at many area venues, including John & Peter's in New Hope, where they last played on Jan. 20. Michael loved the outdoors, hiking and traveling and always looking for the next adventure. He made friends wherever he went and had a joy in living that he freely shared with others. He had worked along with his father in the family real estate business, Doolan Realty, for several years before finding a passion for construction work. For the last two years, he worked for Future Solutions Contracting in Hamilton, where he was a carpenter's apprentice. He was currently attending Mercer County Vo-Tech School toward this goal. Michael lived in Pennington with his father, Peter Doolan, and stepmother, Ida Furente Doolan, and his brother, Matthew. He is survived by his mother, Catherine Marciante Doolan of West Trenton; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Quinn Marciante of West Trenton, and his girlfriend, Kylee Briggs of Newtown, PA. He was the nephew of Edward "Jay" Doolan and David Visser of New Hope, PA; Richard and Lynn Doolan of Lyndell, PA; Mary Ellen Doolan and John Feldhaus of Ewing; Joseph Doolan of Oakland, CA; Michael and Colleen Marciante of Trenton, Stephen and Linda Marciante of Howell, and Mary Barbara Marciante and John Rose of Pennington. He also is survived by his cousins, Christopher Doolan of Orlando, FL, and Katie Seaman of Ewing, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and grandfather on his stepmother's side. He was the grandson of the late Joseph and Helen Doolan of West Trenton, and the late Charles Marciante of West Trenton. Calling hours will be on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. Visit www.murphyfh.com.
