Thomas V. Sachar WEST WINDSOR Thomas V. Sachar, 79, of West Windsor, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Thomas "Tom" was born on June 3, 1942, and raised in Yonkers, New York. He moved to New Jersey in 1968, eventually retiring in West Windsor, NJ. He was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, Class of 1960, and a graduate of Manhattan College, Class of 1964, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He later received his Master's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Thomas met his wife, Rozalie, at a high school dance in 1959, and they were married in 1966 where they began their shared and blessed lives together. Thomas worked for over thirty-six years for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ (Civilian for the Army) as a chemical engineer. He was an avid fan of golf, bocce, and billiards at the Village Grande Clubhouse. He also enjoyed watching Notre Dame and Penn State football and Villanova and UMass basketball on television. He is known by many for his funny one-liners, wit, his love of music including playing the accordion, dancing the polka, and singing Abba tunes around the house for the enjoyment of his family and friends. Thomas was a devout Roman Catholic. Predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Casimira Sachar; and his brother, Vincent Sachar; he is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rozalie; his children, Barbara Clark (Scott), Kenneth Sachar (Stephanie Edwards), Steven Sachar (Jennifer), and Tina Roemersma (Chris); his grandchildren, Emily, Savanna, Amanda, Ryan, Kahlea, Josh, Evan, Trevor and Andrew, and his sisters, Lorraine Travia and Phyllis Telfer. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass. Both are being held at St. David the King Roman Catholic Church, 1 New Village Rd., Princeton Junction, NJ 08550. Masks are optional for the visitation and funeral services of Thomas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Thomas' memory to St. David the King Roman Catholic Church.
