Amelia Mastrogiovanni Simone

EWING - Amelia Mastrogiovanni Simone, 86, of Ewing, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Compassionate Care Hospice – St. Francis Medical Center.
Amelia was born in Trenton and was a lifelong resident of the Trenton/Ewing area. She was employed by the Motor Vehicle Commission - State of New Jersey for 31 years before retiring in 1991. Amelia was a graduate of St. Mary's Cathedral High School. She raised her family as part of the cathedral as well. She later moved to Ewing joining Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and was a member of the Ewing Historical Society. Daughter of the late Marie Antoinette Golia and Andrew Mastrogiovanni, sister of the late Frank Mastrogiovanni, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael A. and Barbara Simone of Jobstown and Jeffrey and Lynn Simone of Hamilton; one daughter, Dr. Regina Simone of Plymouth, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr. and Nicholas of Hamilton and Annamaria of Jobstown; and one great-granddaughter, Makenna of Hamilton. She is also survived by a niece, Christian Mastrogiovanni of Colorado; a nephew, Gregory Mastrogiovanni of California; a beloved cousin, Evelyn Astore of Ewing; her former husband, the late Michael Simone; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Seamon, Grace Lavis and Frances Simone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Golia, Mastrogiovanni and Mastrosimone/Simone families.
Funeral will be at 8:45 a.m. Thursday from the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, West Trenton. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
