Beatrice Cooke Obituary

HAMILTON - Beatrice Sokolski Cooke, age 84, of Hamilton, died May 2, 2013, peacefully under hospice care.
Born in Newark, Beatrice was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hamilton High West and attending Trenton State College. She retired from the Mercer County Clerk's Office and has been a past member of Catholic Daughters and past president of Homedell PTA. Beatrice was an avid reader, loved live theater, always taking the opportunity to share a little Broadway with her children and grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Brys Sokolski, sister of the late Leona Muka, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Cooke and Darlene Cooke of California, John Cooke of Nevada; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Michael Raab of New Jersey, Kathy Hennessey of Nevada, and Karen and John Kofoet of New Jersey; grandchildren, Sasha and Henry Saiz, John Major III, Madison Hennessey, Courtney and Chris Down, Erik Moritz, Lauren Gilbert, Andrew Raab, Christopher Raab, John Kofoet, Rachael Kofoet, Jessica Kofoet; great-grandchildren, Henry, Zackary, Alexzander, Selena, John-John, Jace and Aiden and a very patient and special helper, Andre.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 801 West State St., Trenton. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate Beatrice's life prior to the Mass, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial of cremains will take place in the Trinity Cathedral's Memorial Garden. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Beatrice Cooke to the Salvation Army indicating donation to be utilized to benefit families with children in Trenton.
