Bertha Yanta

Bertha E. Yanta, 96, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton.
Born in Hermitage, PA, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Glassborough State College in 1974. She later went on to receive her master's degree from Trenton State College in 1982. Mrs. Yanta proudly served her country in the U.S. Army.
For many years she was employed by Trenton Board of Education as a nurse for numerous elementary schools. She also worked for Eastern State School Hospital and retired from both positions after 20 years of service. Bertha was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Hamilton. She was an original volunteer for Contact Mercer County a telephone crisis center, for more than 20 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Frances (Kryzic) Novak; her husband, Thomas Jerome Yanta; her son, Gary Lance Yanta; and her siblings, Esther, Victoria, Alice, Frances, Norma, Mary, Victor and Albert; she is survived by her daughter, Allyson Carroll and her husband, Harold; her son, Craig Yanta; her sister, Mildred Lemos; her granddaughter; and her several grandsons, great-granddaughters and great-grandsons.
Graveside services and interment will begin on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at 2:30 pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
