Clara Dickerson

Clarabelle Elizabeth Underwood “Peggy” Dickerson of Hamilton Twp., NJ. age 88 passed away May 17, 2017 at home. She was born in Lawrence Township, NJ. Clara was educated in the Lawrence Township and Trenton Public School Systems. She graduated from Trenton High School. She was employed by the Lawrence Township Board of Education “Head Start” as a CTA. She retired with 20 years of service from both Eldridge Park Elementary and Slackwood Elementary. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eggerts Crossing, Lawrenceville, NJ. Her love was in the Usher Ministry. Peggy was predeceased in death by her parents, Moses and Louise Underwood, husband Douglas R. Dickerson Sr.,two brothers, William and Thomas Underwood, one sister, Dorothy McGuinn (Herb), two sons, Lance Corporal Douglas R. Dickerson Jr. and Paul Dickerson, one daughter, Sherri L. Dickerson. She is survived by three daughters, Joan D. Pillot (Albert), Gail A. and Lisa Dickerson, one son William Blanchard James Dickerson Sr. (Denise), one special sister-in-law, Hazel Underwood, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 11am Wed., May 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Eggerts Crossing, Lawrenceville, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
