Joan Howard

Joan Kauffman Howard age 74 passed away May 9, 2017 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Born in Lawrenceville, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Ewing and Lawrenceville. She was educated in Lawrenceville - Princeton Public School System and attended the School of Practical Nursing at Princeton Medical Center. Joan worked 40 years as a Nurse in the Central Supplies and Store Room Department at the Princeton Medical Center. Joan is predeceased in death by her parents, David and Helen Kauffman; brother, Oliver (Chico) Kauffman; sister, Janet Kauffman; father/mother-in-law, James E. and Lula Lee Howard; brothers-in-laws, Joseph Johnson, James E. Howard, Jr, Marshall Howard, and Lawrence Howard, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Maude Wilson, Betty Howard, Ann Kauffman, and Teneatha Kauffman; nephew-in-law, Lawrence Howard, Jr. Joan is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Howard, Sr; a son, Robert Howard, Jr. (Patricia); sisters, her twin, Jean Kauffman, Dolores Smalls, Mary Williams (Rev. Cornelius), and Carol Ann Johnson (caregiver); brothers, David Kauffman, and Richard Kauffman (Tina); sisters-in-law, Cora Howard, Phoebe Howard, Clara Howard, and Linda Mills (Aaron); brothers-in-law, William Tucker (Rose), Isaac Howard (Doris), and Chestean Howard (Hattie); and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be 11am Fri May 19, 2017 at the Hughes Funeral Home 324 Bellevue Ave. Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family request Only Planters.
