Michael Anthony Monroe, 33, of Trenton departed this life suddenly on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center Trenton, NJ. “Lil Mike” and “Siegel” as he was affectionately known by family and friends was born in Trenton, NJ. He was a lifelong Trenton resident. He attended the Trenton Public Schools. He played baseball with the West End Little League. Predeceased by his mother, Stacy Monroe-Derry; grandmothers, Mabel Monroe and Carolyn Derry; uncles, Carl Derry, Jr. and Barrett Patterson; aunts, Deborah Monroe and Patricia Monroe; and a cousin, Carl Batie. He is survived by his father, Michael Derry; a daughter, Jada Monroe; one sister, Carolyn “Nay” Monroe; grandfather, Carl Derry, Sr.; uncle, Shawn Derry; aunts, Terry Monroe of Ewing Twp., NJ, Renee Smith, Lynette Monroe-Thomas (James), Gina Alvarez-Lawry, Hermona Stanley, Cynthia Reeves and Shimay Paterson all of Trenton, NJ; godfather, Eugene Payne; godmother, Traichelle Davis; a godson, Breon (Block) Johnson; a goddaughter, Ni’Briyah Ellerbe; a special friend, Amirah Abdullah and best friends Briyon Ellerbe, Poe, & Woody. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1pm at Campbell Funeral Chapel 1225 Calhoun St. Trenton, NJ. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 11am to 1pm at the chapel.
