1947 - 2015

Arthur L. Coder Jr., 68, of Coder Road Brockport, Pa., died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015.
Born in Ridgway, Pa., on May 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ida Bell Coder Sr. He was married to Nancy M. Whelpley and she preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2008.
Retired, Art spent 20 years in the United States Army. After his discharge from the military, he then spent another 20 years as a truck driver, driving for Brocious Trucking and Fremer Lumber Co.
He was Methodist by faith.
Art was a member of the V.F.W. Club, where he also was currently serving as a officer. He enjoyed reading, hunting and woodworking. He also loved nature and spending time outdoors.
Art is survived by a daughter ,Marcie (Jeremy) Cirota of Lewistown, Pa.; a son, Arthur Coder III of Brockport; three sisters, Gloria (Richard) Adams of Brockway; Linda Schneider of DuBois; Louise (Richard) Reed of New Paris, Pa.; one brother, Greg (Wendy) Coder, also of Brockport; and three grandchildren: David, Reina and Jacob Cirota.
In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a sister, Garnet Fox; a brother, Jack Coder; and a half sister, Janice Penvose.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, also at the funeral home with Pastor Karen Trask officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded on Thursday morning at the funeral home by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
