Jessie D. Maholtz

1934 - 2022

Jessie D. Maholtz, 87, of Horseshoe Drive, Penfield, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her home.

A daughter of the late John E. and Agnes M. (Berkey) Newell, she was born on July 3, 1934 in Curwensville, PA.

On July 10, 1959, she married Clarence F. "Bucky" Maholtz, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2018.

Besides her parents and her husband, Jessie was predeceased by: two brothers, John and Harwood Newell and two sisters, Emily Igou and Josephine Bojalad.

Jessie is survived by: three children, David (Patti) Maholtz of DuBois, Tracy (Tyrone) Murray of California and Wendy (Thomas) Treasure of New Florence, PA; five grandchildren, Brandon and Keith (Jen) Maholtz, Marcus (Courtney), Matthew and Mariah Murray; three great-grandchildren, Avery Maholtz and Rylan and Jaxson Murray; and four grand-pets, Lexi, Maisie, Marley and Oliver.

Living most of her life in Hickory and Penfield, Jessie was a graduate of Huston Township High School; a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church where she was the Pianist for more than fifty years; and retired from the Penfield Post Office after thirty six years. She loved the outdoors, enjoying gardening, working in her yard and feeding the ducks. She also enjoyed her family pets, playing the piano, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was well known for her amazing Apple Pie, her Dollar Tree in her yard and her card ministry.

There will be no public visitation.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will take place in Morningside Cemetery of DuBois, PA.
