Joanne Kurtz Obituary

Joanne C. Kurtz, age 50, Treasure Lake, DuBois, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at her home.
Born Jan. 28, 1966, in Churchill, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Viola (Kunda) Slota.
On June 18, 1988, she married William L. Kurtz. He survives.
Joanne was a registered nurse and director of the Intensive Care Unit at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She was a board member and past president of the Free Medical Clinic. She was a loving mother who was always involved in her children's school and sports activities.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, William G. Kurtz and Jonathan A. Kurtz, both of DuBois, Pa.; a brother, George Slota of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Barbara Garbin of Virginia Beach, Va.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family strongly requests that memorials be sent to DuBois Central Catholic Schools, P.O. Box 567, DuBois, PA 15801 and/or the Free Medical Clinic, 47 West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
