Mary L. Papa

1963 - 2025

Mary L. Papa, 62, of Ridgway, died on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois following an extended battle with cancer.

She was born on November 13, 1963, the daughter of the late John and Joyce Weis Papa.

A lifelong resident of the Ridgway area, Mary was a proud graduate of Ridgway High School, where her spirit and warmth first endeared her to those around her. Mary possessed a contagious smile that lit up every room she entered, and her zest for life was evident in her love for the outdoors. She found joy in canoeing and cherished the time spent with horses, embracing the beauty of nature in every season. Cooking was another of her passions, as she delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, often gathering them together around her table, where laughter and love filled the air.

She is survived by two sons, Jake Chittester (Dakota Martin) of Ridgway and Joe (Sterling) Chittester of Sabinsville, PA, and four sisters: Tammy (Paul) Solomon of Ridgway, Chris (Pat) Ryan of Brockway, Jean (Bud) Decker of Ridgway, and Barbara Kuntz (Mike Gray) of Brockway, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mary L. Papa will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1p.m. at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Rev. Ron Burkett officiating.

Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Garden.

Visitation will be held on Monday at Krise Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
