Enrico Martinetti Obituary

Enrico G. "Dick" Martinetti, 84, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Monday, June 18, 2012, at Fair Winds Manor in Winfield Township. Enrico was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Trenton, N.J., the son of the late Maria (Choc) and Maggorino "Max" Martinetti. He was the widower of Evelyn Marie (Cairns) Martinetti who passed in 1992. Dick served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed aboard a destroyer as a radar and sonar man. After the war, he went to work for P.P.G. Industries in Creighton for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He also worked for many years with his brother, Ed, building houses. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved to travel with wife. He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. He is survived by his three children, Deborah F. Hildebrand, of Freeport, Sheree A. Martinetti, of Freeport, and son, Henry J. "Bud" (Nancy) Rodgers, of Freeport, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michelle L. Cook, Kelli M. Hildebrand, Chad A. Hildebrand, Terri Rodgers and Richard (Joyce) Rodgers; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren; and his brother, E.E. "Ed" Martinetti, of West Leechburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Martinetti; and his son-in-law, Richard Hildebrand. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Father Edward Volz officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport.
