Andrew Geary Obituary

Andrew Lawrence Geary, 61, of Uniontown, went to his reward Wednesday morning, June 29, 2011, after a heroic battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Gilbert and Helen Marcinek Geary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Jacob Geary. Andy was proud to serve his country by joining the Navy during the Vietnam War. He visited 39 countries at that time and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. His sons followed in his footsteps by also joining the Navy. He was a dedicated employee of Allison Custom Fab, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He was president and auctioneer of his family reunion for many years. He was an avid golfer and loved the Steelers. He was Protestant by faith. He loved life and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife if 29 years, Louise Anne Sierzega Geary; his beloved children: daughters, Melissa Geary, of Champion, and Courtney Geary and her fiance, John Pavlicko, of Newboro; sons, Ryan Geary Sr. and his wife, Dana, of Uniontown, and Chad Geary and his wife, Heidi, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; his precious grandchildren, Brody Pavlico, Taylor Geary, R.J. Geary, Drew Geary and Austin Geary; brothers and sisters, Jean (Babe) Anthony, Beverly (Chuck) Patt, Earl (Darlene) Geary, Glenn Geary, Darlene (Stush) Deny, Vanessa Means and Donna Jeffries; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Marie Sierzega, of Masontown; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and other relatives and friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, and until 11 a.m. Saturday, the hour of service, with the Rev. Vincent Winfrey officiating. Interment is private for the family.
