Paul C. "Pete" Barron, 68, a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. He was born March 11, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Paul Stewart and Florence Hower Barron. Pete was a graduate of the former Hurst High School with the class of 1961. Prior to his retirement, he was an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Earlier in his life, he had worked at Robertshaw and International Paper. Pete was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Firemen's Club, where he had been a bartender, and the Laurel Ridge Sportsman's Club. Pete was a member of Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Pete will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his loving son, Paul W. Barron Jr. and his girlfriend, Kristen Porter, of Greensburg; his granddaughters, Alissa, Ashli and Alexa, all of Greensburg; his sister, Sandra Hamm, of Acme; his brother, David J. Barron and wife, Debi, of Jefferson, Ohio; his nieces and nephews of the Barron family, Susan Baldwin and husband, Ken, of Mill Run, Tom Hamm, of Scottdale, and John Hamm and wife, Terri, of Mill Run, and their families; and his sister-in-law, Marie Marinelli and husband, Al, of Jeannette. In addition to his parents, Pete was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Ann Gray Barron, on Nov. 19, 2011; his stepmother, Dorothy Barron; his brother-in-law, Jack Hamm; and his sister, Linda Barron. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, (724-547-3800), where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Mark Peachey officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt.
