William Coligan Obituary

William E. Coligan, 54, of Tracy's Landing, Md., formerly of Dunbar Township, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at his home. He was born July 23, 1952, in Connellsville, a son of the late James and Rita Smith Coligan. He was a graduate of Connellsville High School, class of 1970. He then attended and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1974. He served with the U.S. Navy for 20 years, and following his retirement worked as a project engineer for Telecommunications Inc., of Annapolis. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Leisenring. He is survived by his wife Erlinda Biannes Coligan; a son, John Coligan, of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Jacqueline Coligan, of San Diego; his brothers and sisters, Kris Coligan and wife Margaret, of Lanham, Md., Casey Coligan and wife Nora, of Houston, Texas, Rita Coligan, of Dunbar Township, Ben Coligan and wife Sandy, of Houston, Anna Lou Smith and husband James, of Connellsville, Rose Helbus and husband Vic, of York, Peggy Coligan, of Dunbar Township, Greg Coligan and wife Cindy, of York, Scott Coligan, of Dunbar Township, and Betty Jane Coligan, of Erie; a sister-in-law, Diane Coligan, of Connellsville; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bruce and John Coligan. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. Funeral arrangements will be announced when completed.
