James Kass

James C. Kass formerly of Glassport James C. "Jim" "Turtle" Kass, 71, former resident of Glassport, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at his home in Linesville. He will be missed and greatly remembered by his friends and family: his wife of 53 years, Janice Kass; four daughters, Jayme Totty, Jill Seitz, Jeana Janiszewski (RIP) and Janna Sandleitner; seven grandsons, Jimmy, Buddy, Luke, Josh, Ben, Christopher and Kory; three granddaughters, Chelsy, Carly and Cassie; five great-grandchildren, Christian, Connor, Brock, Olive and Mateo; and sister, Judy Karg. Jim worked for years at Tobey-Karg Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Nascar races. He spent a lot of time on the lake of Pymatuning. "A great, compassionate and good-hearted man." His favorite sayings were: "Simple things in life are free" and "Family is everything." His favorite candy was Mike and Ikes. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Glassport. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Hal Dangle. Interment following at Richland Cemetery.
