Mr. Schroth was the inspiration behind my interest in biology. He was rock solid with his life's perspective and always supported each student's individual talents and skills. Thank you Ed for pushing my gamma radiation research that ended up winning the barley award from one of Pittsburgh's great international brewers. I still have all your hand written comments from my microscope illustrations. Heaven will be a much smarter place with you at the pearly gates. Peace and prayers to you. You will be greatly missed.

Dear Schroth Family, Deepest condolences to you all. I had the distinct pleasure of coming to know and work with Ed at Duquesne University, and later, would chat when our paths intersected at the Sewickley theater. Ed was a delight and the consummate teacher-- every time we spoke, I learned something new! Sympathies on your profound loss. Karen Ferrick-Roman
