Georgiana "Georgeann" N. Klamut, 89, of
New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, formerly of North Huntington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Shenango on the Green on Friday March 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Georgeann was born on January 16, 1936, in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, Allegheny County, to the late George "Ziggy" Nesta and Anna Bachy Nesta. On May 11, 1957, she married her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert "Bob" G. Klamut who preceded her in death in 2009.
In 1953, Georgeann graduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School. She went on to work as a secretary at Union Railroad before becoming a mother and homemaker. After raising her children, she went to work at Lea's Floral Shop, East McKeesport, PA, which was owned by her uncle. She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of North Huntington and enjoyed community activities, including the Markvue Manor Woman's Club where she served as president. Mostly, she was a devoted swim mom to her three children who were all avid swimmers. One of Georgeann's favorite pastimes was playing solitaire on her phone. Above everything else, she enjoyed spending time with family.
Survivors include son, Robert Klamut (Kelly) of New Wilmington; daughters, Christine "Tina" Wettengel (William) of Corolla, North Carolina and Beth Ann Rosario (Ruben) of Largo, Florida; brother, George "Coleman" Nesta (LaBerta) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Logan Carey of Largo and Stephannie Klamut of New Wilmington. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Georgeann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Nesta.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave.,
New Wilmington, PA 16142. The following day, Wednesday, March 26th there will be a funeral service at 10:00 am at Wallace Memorial Chapel, (on the campus of Westminster College)149 Maple Street,
New Wilmington, PA 16142 with the Reverend Jim Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at the Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Versailles, Pennsylvania at 1:00pm.
Georgeann will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul by all who knew her.
