Peggy "Jane" (Coffman) Augusty, 95, of New Kensington, passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, with her loving daughter and grandson by her side. She was born on Dec. 30, 1929, at her family home in Clinton, to the late Roy and Olive Coffman. Jane was the fifth of seven children and graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1949. Over the years, she worked in several local businesses, including Henry's near the old Tarentum YMCA (now Gaito's), Liberty Mirror Works in Brackenridge, and the Press Factory in Tarentum. During the construction of the George D. Stewart Tarentum Bridge, she contributed to the workforce that shaped her community. Later, she found her true calling in caring for others, working as a nurse's aide at Allegheny Valley Hospital, where she retired after 12 dedicated years of service. A lifelong resident of the Allegheny Valley, Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her time as a stay-at-home mom, volunteering with Cub Scout Packs and Girl Scout Troops while raising her daughters. After being widowed by her husband of 40 years, Bernard Augusty, she remained active in her faith, serving tirelessly in her churches through soup kitchens and outreach programs extending from New Kensington to Pittsburgh. For many years, she was one of two volunteers who faithfully ran the soup kitchen and food bank for Lighthouse Ministries of Arnold, continuing her service until the age of 94. Jane's kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service to others. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Augusty) Leland and Sharon (Augusty) Brucker; six grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. Jane was a longtime member of Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, PA 15068. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, PA 15068.
