Richard Gregory Obituary

Richard R. "Dick" Gregory, 75, a 45-year resident of Moon Township, passed peacefully with his family present Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born March 18, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the only child to the late Raymond Richard and Margaret Elizabeth (Hanahan) Gregory. He married the love of his life July 6, 1968, Carolyn (Osenbau) Gregory. They had a wonderful 50th anniversary with all of their family present. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four wonderful children, Raymond (Stephanie) Gregory, of Clinton, Shannon Gregory, of Moon Township, Meghan (T.J.) Botkin, of Clinton, and Richard (Jennifer) Gregory; and four cherished grandchildren, Tatum Gregory, Jacob Botkin, Keegan Gregory and Aidan Gregory. Dick earned his bachelor's in business administration from Robert Morris University. He went on to be branch manager at Sperry Univac Project and then to Verizon. He proudly served in the Army in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Dick Gregory was a family man and very involved. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, where he was past treasurer. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows, the BPOE, the Hopewell VFW and a 50-year member of Lodge Free and Accepted Masons No. 674, Coraopolis. He loved coaching youth in baseball, football and golf. His hobbies were golfing and collecting trains.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. VFW service will be at 7 p.m. and BPOE service will be at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday with a Masonic service at 5:30 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave. Everyone please meet at the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis at 11 a.m. Saturday for funeral service with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Petrosky, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery.
Because of his successful double lung transplant over a year ago, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations in his name to The Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill St., Philadelphia, PA 19123-4018, www.giftoflifefamilyhouse.org.
