Robert F. Nicholson

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Frank Nicholson, age 66, announces his sudden passing Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., where he had resided for the last decade. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Jason Delaney and Cody Nicholson, along with his former wife, Robin Nicholson VanEerden. Robert is survived by his mother, Lona Deblasio Nicholson, and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Leroy Nicholson, from Cheswick. He will forever be missed by his sisters, Michele Nicholson Widdowson and Janice Nicholson Pakler. He was godfather to Nicolas Evan Pakler and uncle to Molly Lynn Widdowson Chatterton and Jared Pakler. He also kept in close touch with many remaining cousins. Robert graduated from Springdale High School where he developed his passion for music and traveled with the school jazz band, The Mellowmen, where he played guitar and standup bass. He attended the Duquesne University School of Music and continued a long career of playing bass guitar until the present time. Robert held the Eagle Scout award and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He will be missed by his beloved dogs, Joe and Peanut. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date.
