Robert Shoemaker Obituary

Robert George Shoemaker II, 80, of Somerset, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born Nov. 7, 1943, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Robert G. and Kathryn S. (Meyers) Shoemaker Sr. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda L. Mosholder, to whom he was married 55 years; son, Robert G. Shoemaker III and wife, Kristin, of Jefferson Hills, Laura Shoemaker and husband, Patrick Yaple, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Robert IV and Jacob Dominic Shoemaker; and sister, Suzanne Walker, of Baltimore, Md. Rob was a 1961 graduate of Bedford High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked until his retirement as owner/operator of Shoemaker Antiques, in Somerset. He was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain Men's Golf League and enjoyed going to his grandson's soccer games and golfing. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the HAUGER-ZEIGLER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Somerset, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Dunlap officiating. Interment will be at Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Soles, 134 Camp Soles Lane, Rockwood, PA 15557.
