Shirley A. Blissman

1940 - 2024

Shirley A. Blissman, 84, of Latrobe (formerly of North Versailles), died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at home. She was born March 31, 1940, in Gallitzin, a daughter of the late Elwood and Ada (McMullen) Skelly. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by Pittsburgh Bone and Joint in McKeesport. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time, and vacationing in Disney with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Lazorchak; and two brothers, Donald and Melvin Skelly. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Blissman; two sons, Michael T. Blissman (Lisa) of Greensburg and Scott E. Blissman (Tanya) of Hatfield; four grandchildren, Jena Findle (David), Rachael Volek (Troy), and Vanessa and Andrew Blissman; two great-grandchildren, Liana and Cambrie; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, in Greensburg Alliance Church. Please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Senior Helpers in Greensburg and Suncrest Hospice, who have become like family.
