Richard Joseph "Rich" Schultheis Sr. passed peacefully at home in Verona surrounded by family with 100 years of memories, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021. He was the husband of the late Emmy; loving father of Charlie, Mark (Judith), Jack (Jackie), Susie, Daniel, Steven and the late Richard, Ronald, Mary and Ike; also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother of the late Bill, Herbie, Jerry, Tommy, Father Ray and Tessie. Rich served as a member of the Navy during World War II. After his service, he returned to Verona and established Schultheis Bros. with his brother, Bill. Rich devoted 75 years of his life as the CEO of Schultheis Bros., creating a legacy of being one of the most trustworthy roofing and HVAC companies in the Pittsburgh Area. His success and longevity in the industry was due to his work ethic. He was always happiest when on a roof or at job site. Rich had an unwavering loyalty to his family, business and community. He will be always remembered for his generosity, hill top parties, love of horses, hunting trips, always reminding you to keep your head down when golfing and adventurous driving style. Rich will be deeply missed by his family and employees, who could not have asked for a better leader. No matter how hard things got, Rich always took care of the people he loved, one of the most selfless people ever known. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOME, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills, PA 15235. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church, Holy Family Parish. Everyone please wear a mask.
