Eleanor Leona Lants, 94, of Kiski Township, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, in her daughter's home. Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Revloc, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Edna (Morgan) Bash. A homemaker, Eleanor lived in the Apollo area all of her life. She was a member of Free Methodist Church, Spring Church, and an active volunteer for the Salvation Army in Vandergrift. Eleanor enjoyed baking and loved listening and singing gospel music. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley T. "The Candy Man" Lants, June 21, 1988; three brothers, Howard, Donald and Gerald Bash; two sisters, Helen Slicker and Grace Roudebush; stepsister, Ada Uptegraph; and stepbrother, Carl Bash. Survivors include two sons, S. Timothy (Nancy) Lants, of Clearwater, Fla., and Paul W. (Eva-Marie) Lants, of Toledo, Ohio; two daughters, Martha L. Felton, of Kiski Township, and Priscilla R. Slaverio, of Apollo; two brothers, Robert E. Bash and Raymond A. Bash, both of Apollo; sister, E. Ruth (Charles) Farren, also of Apollo; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Forrest States, Pastor Scott Fairman and S. Timothy Lants officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
