Clara Dananay Obituary

Clara Elizabeth Dananay, 99, of Allison Park, formerly of New Kensington, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in Rebecca Residence, Allison Park. She was born April 1, 1913, in South Greensburg, to the late John and Frances (Glowacki) Trofka and had been a life resident of the local area. She had worked in the Cooking Utensil Department of Alcoa, in New Kensington. Clare was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington and was an avid reader and enjoyed cards. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen C. (Paul) Jacobs, of Allison Park, with whom she made her home; her son, Frank A. (Karen) Dananay, of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Steven (Valerie) and Melanie Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Baija and Christopher Jacobs. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Michael Dananay; grandson, Clay H. Dananay; brothers, Walter, Frank, Steve, Adam and Edward Trofka; and sisters, Verna and Pearl Grabowski, Cecelia Mastalski, Stella Trofka, Vera Simons and Marie Rodgers. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, New Kensington.
